Abstract:

Open Access promotes immediate and barrier-free access to research results, with the possibility of reusing the content under the acknowledgement of authorship, expressed in a license that accompanies the communication.

In this conference, the concepts around author rights in the context of scientific publications will be reviewed. The implications of journal's copyright transfer agreements on exploitation rights and self-archiving in open access repositories will be examined, as well as the possible formulas for a coexistence of Open Science and Intellectual Property within the framework of the Spanish legislation and within a research institution.

Keywords: scientific publications, open access, copyright, exploitation rights, intellectual property, licenses, creative commons, results and research data.

12:00 - 12:45 Publications, exploitation rights and licences. Remedios Melero.
12:45 Break
13:00 Round of questions
