Madrid, March 12th, 2024. The workshop "Open Science info session: focus with Open Access and the Institutional Repository" has served to expose the most relevant aspects of Open Science in the context of IMDEA Nanociencia. Open Access, as one of its most important facets, has been reviewed with an emphasis on current policies at national and European level.

The conference has served to present the advances achieved by the "Nanociencia abierta" project, funded by the 'María de Guzmán' call of FECYT. This project has served to improve the technological capacity of the Institutional Repository and promote the deposit of research results, as well as to raise awareness among the research community of IMDEA Nanociencia about the interest and importance of Open Access.

During the two-year duration of the " Nanociencia abierta " project, it has been possible to update the software of the digital archive and make it visible worldwide through a multitude of metadata collectors, such as OpenAIRE (European Commission) or Recolecta (national aggregator, FECYT), among others. The infrastructure has been improved with functionalities such as the export of metadata in various formats, or the connection with the interfaces of European and national funding projects. Likewise, the metadata of existing objects has been enriched, making a more exhaustive description of them. In terms of the number of archives deposited, there has been a notable increase in the number of archives deposited, reaching 80% of scientific publications in 2024.

The " Nanociencia abierta " project is an initiative of the IMDEA Nanociencia Project Office and has received support from the 'María de Guzmán' 2020-2021 call of FECYT, and the Severo Ochoa Excellence seal awarded to IMDEA Nanociencia in 2017.
